The National Weather Service Has Issued A Winter Storm Warning


Here is the National Weather service warning and latest NAM model and QPF (quantitative precipitation forecast). QPF at 10:1 ratio shows 10-13 inches for Nassau county and 15"+ for eastern long island.

WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM
7 PM TUESDAY TO 6 PM EST WEDNESDAY. THE WINTER STORM WATCH IS NO
LONGER IN EFFECT.

* HAZARDS...SNOW...HEAVY AT TIMES.
* ACCUMULATIONS...7 TO 14 INCHES...WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS
  POSSIBLE. HIGHEST AMOUNTS ACROSS LONG ISLAND.
* WINDS...GUSTS 25 TO 35 MPH.
* VISIBILITIES...LESS THAN 1/4 MILE AT TIMES.
* TIMING...HEAVIEST SNOW OCCURS AFTER MIDNIGHT TUESDAY NIGHT INTO
  EARLY WEDNESDAY.
* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL TUESDAY NIGHT AND THROUGH THE DAY
  WEDNESDAY.
