Weak system to bring snow to the area tonight and tomorrow

A weak system over the great lakes will slide east today and then develop off the coast of NJ/LI tonight bringing light to moderate snow late tonight to the area. The storm will not strengthen fast enough to bring us heavy acumulations like the last two snowstorms.

The snow should begin from west to east, with snow falling in all NY metro area TV viewing locations by around midnight and move out by noon on Friday leaving total accumulations of 1-3 inches south of the city 2-4 inches in and around NY (less in Manhattan) and 3-5 inches north and east of the city.

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory.
