Flurries and snow showers this AM (City and LI); watching for another just after 12 for Rockland, 1-2PM for NYC Metro and then 4PM for E LI

 We have a coating on the grass an some areas of the blacktop on the north shore of LI - got a nice little snow shower from 6:45 - 8:00. Looks like this is going to move out of here pretty fast. In NYC I would look out for another snow shower to start just before 10AM and then move east of the city. North and west I would look for a little band of snow showers to move through just after 1PM.

06Z (1AM) GFS 500mb vorticity from 12Z Wed (7AM) through 0Z Thu (7PM Wed) shows when the upper air energy passes through - one nice piece around 10AM NYC and South and East and a line of instability setting up north to south sweeping through the finger lakes around 9AM and then Orange County, NY by 10AM, NYC 2PM (19Z) and then S. VT, West MA and E LI by 21Z (4PM)
